Apart from creating new titles to address people when you create new accounts or entries for people, you can also modify or delete the titles.
To modify or delete titles, function right 120 – Maintain titles is required. Users with the Customer manager role have this function right.
For more details on what you can do with function rights or levels, go to System/Setup/Security/Function rights, select the required module, and then click on the relevant ID. To find out the functions you can perform with a particular role, go to System/Setup/Security/Roles, type in the description, click Refresh, and then click the required link under the Role column.
Click this to save the changes made to the selected title.
Click this to delete the selected title.
Click this to view the previous changes made to the selected title. The log shows the fields that have been changed, the date and time of changes made, the old and new data, as well as the person who made the changes.
Click this to exit.
This displays the code of the selected title. You cannot modify the code.
Type the description of the title. This is mandatory.
Type the letter heading for the title. For example, if the title is for “Mr”, you may type a heading here as “Dear Sir”. This letter heading is used when you create a mail merge. For more information, see Creating Mail Merge for Multiple Recipients.
Type an abbreviation for the title. This is mandatory.
Type or select the language of the title. Titles are dependant on the language. For example, if you create a new entry of a person and the language defined for the person is English, then the title, which is linked to English, and the gender of the new person will be displayed by default.
Select the gender which is linked to the title. There are three options available which are Male, Female, and Unknown. When you enter a contact person while creating a new account, a gender will be automatically assigned to the contact person based on the title given to the contact person. The system assigns the gender according to the gender linked to the title.
Select this check box to make the new title a default title for a specific language when you enter details for a contact person. For example, if the language of the contact person is German, the default title for German will be shown at Title.
